Traditional Canoe Lagoon Tour with BBQ Motu Lunch

5.0 (9 verified reviews)

About This Experience

Bora Bora Onoku Services picks you up from your hotel or a set meeting point, including a free 9:00 a.m. pickup from the beach in front of Tiare Market. You board a traditional canoe and head out to snorkel in several lagoon areas, where manta rays, stingrays, blacktip sharks and tropical fish may appear. Touching marine life is not allowed.

Lunch is a picnic on a private motu, with your feet in the water or on the sand (the listing title calls it a BBQ motu). After lunch there is a hand-dyed pareo workshop and a coconut show, and before heading back the day takes in the offshore coral reef, with views of the neighbouring islands of Taha'a and Raiatea, and a small handicraft boutique on the motu.

The day runs 6 hours 30 minutes. The listing says it is not suitable for non-swimmers or people prone to seasickness. In September 2026 it started from $151 per person on GetYourGuide, with a 5.0 rating from 9 reviews, a small sample so far. Check the live price for your date.

The closest alternative on this site is Moana's outrigger canoe cruise on Viator: six hours in a Polynesian outrigger for adults 18 and over, capped at six couples, with a barbecue lunch on a private motu, from $282 per person and rated 4.9 from 202 reviews.

What Travelers Say

Rated 5.0/5 by 9 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

An absolutely fantastic activity! 🤩 We were lucky enough to see some magnificent manta rays, then stingrays and sharks. 🐠🦈 An incredible experience up close and personal with Polynesian wildlife! We then enjoyed a fantastic traditional Polynesian meal on a motu, with our feet in the water, in a truly stunning setting. 🌴🌺 We also had the chance to learn how sarongs are made and to take one home with us, as well as to learn how to open a coconut and enjoy it right there on the spot. 🥥 A very well-rounded activity, with wonderful things to discover, stunning landscapes and a truly convivial experience. A big thank you to Giovanni for his kindness, his explanations, and for giving us this wonderful experience! 💙 We recommend it 100%! 🌺

Excellent, very professional. We were really safe with the two brothers. Diving above manta rays, reef sharks, rays, various fish, a coral garden, lunch by the water—everything was perfect.

Where does the tour pick up?

Free pickup is at 9:00 a.m. from the beach in front of Tiare Market, and the operator also collects from hotels on its list. Pickup from hotels not on the list is not included. If you are staying in a private area, tell your hotel reception in advance.
