Half-Day Lagoon Safari

4.9 (263 verified reviews)

About This Experience

After pickup and a boat ride of about 20 minutes, the guide gives a safety briefing of around 10 minutes. The next 3.5 hours are spent moving around the lagoon: sightseeing from the safari boat, snorkeling over coral gardens with tropical fish, and watching blacktip reef sharks and rays. Fresh fruit and local snacks are handed round on board, along with water, juices and sodas. A second boat transfer of about 20 minutes brings you back.

This is the shorter sister of Rohivai Tours' full-day safari. You get the sharks, rays and coral, but no motu lunch, so it fits a morning or afternoon between resort time, or a first day when you want a feel for the lagoon. Several reviewers report seeing manta rays and eagle rays, though the listing does not promise mantas. It is not suitable for wheelchair users or pregnant women.

The closest alternative on this site is the Eco Snorkel Cruise with Sharks and Stingrays (6964P12), also from $113 per person but 2.5 hours long. This safari gives you an extra 1.5 hours plus towel, fins and fruit. If you would like a motu lunch too, the full-day Rohivai safari (516522) is from $171 per person.

In September 2026 this trip is from $113 per person on GetYourGuide, rated 4.9 from 245 reviews. The same half-day safari is also sold on Viator from $152 per person, rated 4.9 from 141 reviews there. Check the live price for your date before you book.

Great day in the water. Our Guide Ramon was awesome and did everything to make our experience wonderful.

This tour was by far the best snorkeling excursion I have ever been on (I visited 130+ countries, including snorkeling in most major locations). The waters are the clearest I have ever seen, and the abundance of fish, sharks and manta rays is unbelievable. I also saw colorful corals, and went around the entire island by boat. Snacks (bananas, coconuts) and drinks were also included. While this is a shared tour, it turned out I was their only booking for the afternoon (1 pm) on June 18. However, they still went ahead (thank you so much!). I was in Bora Bora for 1 night only, thus, them keeping the booking with just me on was amazing! Communication was always great and prompt. The guide (if I remember correctly, his name was Ramon) was super helpful and friendly. He also gave me shells he collected. Thank you so much! Overall, this tour made one of the best days ever!
