Full-Day Lagoon Cruise with Sharks, Rays & BBQ Lunch

About This Experience

Vavau's full day is a circle-island boat trip around the Bora Bora lagoon of about six hours. After hotel pickup you cruise out to meet stingrays in waist-deep water, see blacktip reef sharks, and snorkel a coral garden with masks and snorkels from the crew. The GetYourGuide listing for the same trip says anyone who prefers to stay in the boat can still see the marine life through the clear water.

At midday the boat stops at a small island where the operator's family runs a BBQ and salad bar lunch, with steak, chicken, fish, salads and fruit served at tables with your feet in the lagoon. The stop includes a beachside Polynesian performance. Guests mention four snorkel stops, a shore stop on the outer reef, tasting green and ripe coconuts, and sometimes manta rays and eagle rays, though one guest saw only three stingrays.

It suits families and first-time visitors who want the classic day of rays, sharks, coral and a motu lunch with a show. The listing rates it suitable for all fitness levels and children's rates start at age 3. The closest alternative is Lagoon Service's full day at $174 per person, which costs more but has more reviews (1,699 at 5.0) and lists towels and soft drinks on Viator. Note that the GetYourGuide listing for this trip describes feeding the rays; if that matters to you, Moana and H2O state that they do not feed wildlife.

In September 2026 it costs from $155 per person on Viator, rated 4.8 from 722 reviews. The same Vavau trip is on GetYourGuide from $158 per person, rated 4.8 from 161 reviews there. Check the live price for your date on both. Gratuities are not included, and free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before departure.
